Please join Cellar Door and local author Isabel Quintero (Gabi, a Girl in Pieces, Photographic) for a conversation with poets Rocio Carlos and Rachel McLeod Kaminer, authors of Attendance.
In this collaborative work, part poetry, literary nonfiction, hybrid genre, Latinx studies, LGBTQ+ studies, and California interest, Carlos and Kaminer present what Natasha Deon (Grace) calls a "meditation," one year of two people reaching across styles and genres.
We hope you'll come out and support our local poetry scene, and listen to what's sure to be a fascinating intersectional discussion between poets!
Rocio Carlos is the author of Coyolxhauqui, Los Angeles, A World Below, and co-author of ex*her*pt*. She was elected as a 2003 Pen Center "Emerging Voices" fellow. She has infamous cats.
Rachel McLeod Kaminer grew up in the Blue Ridge of the Appalachian mountains. Her book of poetry As in the dark, descend was published in 2016. Rachel lives and works in Los Angeles; she really likes to read.
