COVID-19 Notice

Due to COVID-19, our publishers, warehouses, distributors, and our bookstore have implemented procedures to keep our workers, delivery personel, and customers as safe as possible. While we are working hard to process orders and are slowly improving our delivery times, please understand that our priority is and will always be to keep people safe. This means that there may be some delays. We will contact you with any updates pertaining to your order as quickly as we can. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We so appreciate your support!

We are currently open for:

  • online orders
  • phone orders
  • curbside pickup
  • limited walk-in and appointment browsing

We are limiting the number of people in store at one time to keep our customers and staff safe. Doors will be kept locked in between walk-ins to help us control foot traffic. Browse by appointment slots are 20 minutes. Call or email ahead of time to sign up for an appointment and receive confirmation by our staff. No one will be allowed inside without a properly worn mask. Hand sanitizer will be given at the door. Children must be old enough to keep their masks on and limit touching, or else be held in a parent's arms. In the event that we'll need to close the storefront again, we will continue to fill online and phone orders.

Return Policy

We are happy to exchange or give store credit for any book in its original condition purchased from Cellar Door Bookstore within 30 days of purchase / receiving your web order. Please review the following policies and contact us with any quesions.

We do not accept returns for the following:

  • Books that you have read and are no longer in the original, new condition
  • Damaged books / items
  • Special orders that are not part of our regular stock
  • Puzzles and games

It is strongly recommended that you provide your original receipt or order invoice. Without a receipt / invoice, a return may be approved for exchange or store credit at the manager's discretion and only at the current value of the book.

If you receive your order and find an item to be missing, incorrect, or damaged, please contact the store within 7 days so that we may address and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

For all mail returns or exchanges, please contact us. The customer is responsible for costs of return shipping. We are not responsible for packages lost or damaged during the return transit. Authorized returns should be sent to:

Gift Items

A Cellar Select Gift Box is not eligible for return or refund and cannot be exchanged for store credit in its entirety. 

However, if the recipient receives a book included in their box that they already own, it may be eligible for exchange or return for store credit within 30 days of receiving the gift box. We will not accept returns for the following:

  • Books that the recipient has read and are no longer in the original, new condition
  • Books that are damaged

You must also provide the order or box number (specified on the invoice / gift box insert). Without an order number, a return may be approved for exchange or store credit at the manager's discretion and only at the current value of the book. 

If you receive your gift box and find an item to be damaged, please contact the store within 7 days so that we may address and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

If you are ordering a Cellar Select Gift Box as a gift for another individual, please be sure to give the recipient's address -- not your own -- as the shipping address during checkout. 

The customer is responsible for providing correct and up-to-date contact and shipping information when placing an order for a Cellar Select Gift Box. We are not responsible for packages lost due to incorrect shipping information. 

Special Order Policy

We can special order books that are in print and available from a major publisher or publishers / distributors that we currently hold accounts with. We cannot special order books that are no longer in print or only available from alternate sources. Please contact us to check a book(s)' availability before you place your order.

There is no extra charge to place a special order. We will only charge the cost of the book(s) and any applicable shipping fees. We cannot guarantee the arrival date of special orders; any estimates given by staff are subject to change.

We may not be able to cancel a special order with the publisher / distributor once it has been placed, so please be certain of your order before placing it.

In-Store Pickup

When your order is ready for pickup, we will notify you via the contact information you provided during checkout. If you do not pick up your special order within 14 days from notice, we will attempt to contact you a second time. If you do not pick up your special order after 30 days from first notice, please be aware that your book is subject to being restocked or returned regardless of any prepayment.

If your primary or only point of contact is a phone number, please note that if you do not answer our phone call, we will always leave a voicemail message, unless:

  • The voicemail box is full
  • You have not set up your voicemail
  • There are any complications with your phone service or provider that prevent us from leaving a message

We are not responsible if the above conditions apply. We may also attempt to notify you via email if we cannot reach you by phone, when applicable. The customer is responsible for providing correct and up-to-date contact information when placing a special order. We reserve the right to restock or return any items left uncollected after 30 days if we are unable to contact the customer.

Shipping Policy

We offer the following shipping options:

USPS Priority Mail $9 + $2 per item 1-3 business days after your order is processed
UPS Overnight Shipping $30 + $0.95 per item 1 business day after your order is processed
UPS 2-Day Shipping $22 + $0.95 per item 2 business days after your order is processed
UPS International $35 + $1.50 per item 5-21 business days (varies by country)
USPS International $30 + $0.95 per item 5-21 business days (varies by country)

Please note that while most packages arrive within the time specified, in some cases shipments may take longer to arrive. Any arrival estimates given by staff are not guaranteed and are subject to change.

Depending on availability of items, some orders may ship separately. Items from remote warehouses (i.e. items not in-stock at time of checkout) may be grouped as a separate order, shipping directly from that warehouse. Otherwise, orders will be shipped when all items have been gathered. In-stock items will not be shipped individually.

Pre-ordered and backordered items ship once available.
